White goods & appliances: choosing the components

A modern appliance divides into motor drive, the control and HMI block, the power supply, sensing, and the physical layer of connectors and displays. This guide shows which J.P. Electronics manufacturer lines serve each block.

Which of our lines serves each block?

Connectors & hardwareKLS CLAFWire-to-board, creepage, serviceability

Why are appliances moving from universal motors to BLDC?

Efficiency regulation and noise. A BLDC compressor or drum motor cuts energy use enough to change the efficiency label and runs quieter, which sells. The cost delta is the MCU, the sensing and the drive stage — all of which sit on our card.

What does an appliance HMI actually need?

Touch keys that work with wet fingers, a display readable across a kitchen, and a buzzer the user can hear over the machine. Simple requirements, but each one is a real component choice.
