Automotive: choosing the components

Automotive electronics divides into ten blocks, from body control and in-vehicle networking through sensing, drives, lighting and the cluster, to telematics and the connectors and passives around everything. This guide shows which J.P. Electronics manufacturer lines serve each block, with AEC-qualified options flagged where the design needs them.

Which of our lines serves each block?

What does AEC qualification actually cover?

AEC-Q100 covers ICs, Q101 discretes and Q200 passives. It is a stress-test regime, not a quality grade — a qualified part has demonstrated survival across automotive temperature and stress profiles. Which grade you need depends on where in the vehicle the module lives.

How do we manage second sources on an automotive BOM?

Qualify them up front. Once a module is PPAP-approved, changing a component means re-approval, so the time to bring in a second source is at design, not during a shortage. Our card carries both established and second-source manufacturers, which makes that pairing practical.

Working on a automotive design?

Email your specification and we will map it to the right families across our lines, with samples for the ones you shortlist.
